Dr. Nasra Warsame, MD, CCFP

Meet Your Doctor

Dr. Nasra Warsame has been practicing medicine since 2011 across the U.S. and Canada—but with her youthful energy and warm demeanor, people still ask if she just graduated. Don’t be fooled—it’s the result of years of experience, genuine passion, and maybe a little good lighting. She completed her Family Medicine residency in Wisconsin, where the cheese was great… but if you truly know her, you know she detests cheese (a controversial opinion she stands by proudly).

In 2018, she founded Ajax Family Practice with a vision to provide warm, accessible, community-centered care. Since then, she’s become known as “the joint whisperer”—a title earned from patients amazed by her painless injection technique. She credits this not to magic, but to experience and great teachers.

This clinic is also a teaching clinic—something close to Dr. Warsame’s heart. Her passion for mentorship has led to many proud moments: one of her beloved medical receptionists went on to an internal medicine residency in Michigan, and two of her former high school co-op students will begin medical school in September 2025. As a preceptor for Queen’s University first-year residents, she has also supported several international medical graduates (IMGs) who later matched into psychiatry and family medicine. Teaching, for her, isn’t just a role—it’s one of her greatest joys.

She’s deeply passionate about preventative care, social change through medicine, and nurturing future physicians. She’s also the kind of doctor who stays late to make sure no one is turned away—though her team is still working on convincing her that “rest” is not a dirty word.

Above all, Dr. Warsame considers it a privilege to walk alongside her patients and learners through all stages of life—with empathy, curiosity, and a little humor along the way.
